BMW X1 2011 North American market
BMW launched, at the Montreal Auto Show 2011, the new BMW X1 North American market. Rumors of the Auto Show in Detroit indicated that entry-level model SAV will be launched in Canada this summer and in the U.S. in the fall.
Based on models of the 3 series platform, the new 2011 BMW X1 is the smallest car in the BMW SUV range, along with the X3, X5 and X6. With four engines, one petrol and three diesel, the new BMW will be launched soon in Europe. Version 3.0 liter 6 cylinder engine develops 250 horsepower and three other diesel models, the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder develops 204, 177 and 143 horsepower respectively.
Inside, the BMW X1 2011 received the fine material for a trim modern design, natural color and 420 liters of luggage compartment capacity can be increased to 1,350 liters, if rear seat is folded. New spoilers and thresholds has an aggressive line and the running gear has lower ground clearance for better stability. The new car comes standard with new alloy wheels of 18 inch and new interior features.
However, 2011 BMW X1 keeps stylistic lines of the X series, being a luxury car adapted to the crisis conditions. One of the engine is 2.0 liter, a common rail diesel engine and six-speed automatic gearbox, one of the top of this model. Although the outside the X1 seems much smaller than other models of the X series, the inside of this car is quite large. The BMW X1 will be successful in 2011 because the Bavarian manufacturer of automotive sensed the market moves well and came on time with this model, a real alternative to the crisis.
BMW X1 2011 – offering aM Sport package
BMW is based on the success of the X1 model in Europe and will offer a package M Sport, similar to those offered in other models X. The new kit will be launched before the end of this year and includes all the classic aerodynamic and aesthetic M elements, new bars front and rear, M Sports steering wheel, M suspension, and other accessories bearing the M logo. Bavarian manufacturer came on the car market with an SUV coupe, which helps the market segment that has shifted towards the luxury car category, smaller and cheaper than the conventional ones.
BMW X1 is assembled at the plant in Leipzig, Germany, and was well received by customers since its launch a year ago. It will be interesting to see how it will behave BMW X1 U.S. market, which already sells BMW X3 model premium SAV now and MINI Countryman.
Engine for the U.S. offer will include models 28i and 35i likely, versions with rear-wheel drive and xDrive AWD. Although there was no confirmation related to diesel engines, is expected to reach one of the diesel engines and overseas, most likely that propels the 2.0 turbo xDrive23d in Europe, or 123d. Canada will probably be offered a model 25I.
With the launch of the X1, the BMW opened a new segment of premium small SUVs. The first rival will appear in 2011, when Audi launches Q3 model, followed shortly after the Saab 9-4x. And other premium car manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti are expected to launch similar models in the near future, trying to compete with BMW X1 2011.
